Day 2 was a different story. While a number
of teams had managed to stay in touch with Cambridgeshire on
the first day, no one was able to do so on the final day of the
competition.
In total, of the 27 games played by them,
Cambridgeshire lost only 3 and ended up taking a dominant win.
Essex fell back to third, leaving Suffolk to take the runner-up
spot for the second year in a row, while Norfolk jumped up from
7th place over night to take a creditable 4th place finish, demoting
Durham to 5th while relative newboys Sunderland took an impressive
6th place.
