Bedfordshire County Carpets Bowls Association
(BCCBA) held a very successful Charity evening at The Rufus Centre
on Saturday 25th February.
This event came about as one of our county
players, Robert Macdonald and his wife Katy had prematurely born
twins a year ago, George and Amelia.
Great
Ormond Street and The
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of Luton and Dunstable Hospital
were chosen. Both were involved with the twins and their representatives
were present to give talks.
A raffle was held and some of the many
prizes donated included a day pass to Center Parcs, afternoon
tea at Flitwick Manor, a voucher from Potters Resort Norfolk
and a voucher on a T&D bowling holiday donated by the BCCBA
chairman Mike Walker.
The raffle combined with a £1 coin competition along with
donations amounted to £1310.00 which was divided between
the two charities.
The twins were present along with parents, friends and many carpet
bowls club members from across Bedfordshire.
All were entertained and danced to the band Mundi Knights which
George Savage is a member of, who provided music from 60s, 70s
and 80s.
The Rufus centre provided an excellent buffet, a very enjoyable
evening had by all.
